We’ve been crazy busy here at Ramos Creative the past few months: adding another designer, moving to a new studio, working on some great client work as well as a few projects of our own—the most recent being Two Over Zero. In the midst of all this, we’ve been working on our own site and identity, realigning our brand to match the quality of design we’ve been doing for our clients.

As a tribute to Maurice Sendak and his Where the Wild Things Are book, Cory Godbey has started www.terribleyelloweyes.com, showcasing work inspired by the book, and created by artists the world over. The History Bluff has been a truly fun brand to work with. Describing themselves as a group that is “making a mess of history” they dig deep and find the true details, the “Neety Greety” of the past. Did you know that Abraham Lincoln was in fact our shortest President? Or that the Apollo moon landing was actually done in a studio? The History Bluff is a news source that is not afraid to uncover the truth.

I recently found a great site for texture images called Lost and Taken. They have quite a number of freebies, but also offer premium content as well. Next time you’re looking for images of paper, cardboard, coffee stains, et cetera, make sure this site is on your list.

There are many production methods I love to see used in print pieces, such as letterpress, foil stamping, and of course, die-cuts. This business card is done well, and makes a really nice presentation all around.

I love Information Graphics. In some ways there is nothing quite as beautiful. Graphic designer Nicholas Felton has released his fourth installment in his own Annual Report project, which visually represents his time and activities for that past year. Each year his Annual Reports have attracted more and more attention, and perhaps as a result, Nicholas has taken each past report to new heights. This year is no different. From the books he has read to the places he has been and the music he listen to along the way, each piece of information has been laid out beautifully in the form of charts, graphs, and even his own version of an atlas map. Available in both folded and unfolded versions, it is available here.
